Whitchurch – Area Guide

Situated in the north of Cardiff, the suburb of Whitchurch is an extremely popular place to live, with tree lined roads, an array of independent shops and businesses and a real community feel.

Just three miles north of the City centre, Whitchurch has excellent transport links into Cardiff, with two railway stations and regular bus services, making it a popular commuter hotspot. With excellent English and Welsh medium primary and secondary schools in the area, Whitchurch has for a long time been extremely popular with families also, and rightly so.

There are a huge variety of property types in Whitchurch which give all buyers plenty of choice. From traditional Bungalows for those looking for retirement options, terraced houses and apartments which may suit first time buyers or investors, to the bulk of the village having bay fronted semi-detached or detached family homes, there really is something for everyone.

First up, Coffi Lab! We’re so please to be welcoming a second Coffi Lab spot to Whitchurch. With the goal to feel like ‘a home where friends gather’ we can certainly say they succeed! We love popping by for a coffee en route to the office, or meeting friends after work. (And you’re guaranteed to bump into a furry four legged friend!)

We cannot get enough of Fino Lounge! This is the perfect place for a spot of lunch with family, a catch up over (delicious) brunch or a dinner date with that special someone! As we head into spring, their outdoor seating spot will be the place to be seen.

Partial to a pastry? You won’t be able to walk past Parsons Bakery without being drawn in by the rows of tempting treats on display in the window. We often pop across the road for a mid-afternoon cake, and cannot recommend their Chelsea buns enough.

Pizzeria Villaggio…where do we start! We’re lucky enough to have one of Cardiff’s oldest pizzeria’s in Whitchurch, having first opened their doors in 1986. If authentic Italian food is your thing, you simply have to pay them a visit…delizioso!

We know a good hearty pub is simply essential when considering moving to an area, and The Fox and Hounds delivers! They’re dog friendly and have a fantastic beer garden, that’s frequented by the Hern and Crabtree team in the summer…tried and tested!

There’s nothing better than tapas on a sunny evening, and as we head into spring we just know Santiagos Tapas is going to be bustling! When we say they know how to do authentic Spanish tapas….boy do they know!

The Maltsters is located in the heart of the village, and prides themselves on great Cask Ales, good atmosphere and excellent service. It’s the perfect place for an after-work pint (or two!) and friendly conversation with locals.
